2008-09: In his rookie OHL season, Jeff Skinner played in 63 games Kitchener Rangers. He scored 27 goals and 24 assists and was -5 with 34 penalty minutes. Kitchner not make the playoffs, finishing ninth in the Western Conference.
2009-10:Jeff Skinner had an exceptional season that Kitchener was one of the most improved team in the OHL. Skinner scored 50 goals with 40 assists and was 7-72 PIM in 64 games as the Rangers finished third in the Western Conference. Jeff Skinner finished second in Barrie Bryan Cameron (53) in goals and 90 points were the seventh in the OHL. Skinner has also recorded 72 penalty minutes. He was particularly effective on the power play, scoring 21 times. Skinner was at his best in the playoffs when the Rangers rolled through the first two rounds, then took the Memorial Cup champions in Windsor in the final seven games of the Western Conference. Skinner scored 20 goals with 13 assists and a three in 20 playoff games. Skinner played for Team Orr in 2010 CHL Top Prospects Game Top, picking up a goal and an assist in this competition. He was named player of the Orr match in this competition.
Talent Analysis
Skinner is a skater slightly above average, but the main strengths of his game is his ability to score goals and his understanding of both the disc and beyond. Not the best player, but his leg strength and awesome sound that makes it difficult to release the disc. No physical play back and enjoy the competition in small areas.
