Mickelson won the Shell Houston Open three

Phil Mickelson carded final round 7-under-par 65 and won the Shell Houston Open three shots over Chris Kirk and Scott Verplank.

Mickelson was wild off the tee and approaches in the openings, then was able to chip in head first, the savage cost him bogeys on the two following holes. Birdies at the fourth and seventh put on a whim, but people will talk about his series of five birdies from the ninth to tied with Scott Verplank, who was almost as hot. Mickelson birdies ended run at the par 3 of 14,Mickelson won the Shell Houston Open three but the lefthander took the lead by one stroke when Verplank missed three meters for par. The par 5 hole 15 to lose focus Mickelson with a par value of three 24-foot putt, but he won more than two shots on the par-3 16 after the conversion of five meters for birdie with a bogey transformed Verplank. Mickelson has passed the final green, but then nearly holed out with his chip. The SHO is his 39th career victory on the PGA Tour, but the first time since the age of 40 years in June.
