Kenyon Lee Martin (born December 30, 1977) is a player of American professional basketball. Nicknamed "K-Mart, he played wing for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA. He was selected first overall in NBA Draft 2000.
College career

Martin played for the Bearcats of Cincinnati under the direction of Bob Huggins. As a senior, averaged 18.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. It was the consensus national player of the year, winning numerous awards from different organizations, but suffered a broken leg in the Conference USA Tournament, keeping it out of the NCAA tournament this year. Cincinnati has taken his shirt # April 4, 1925, 2000. Later that year he was first elected in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Nets in New Jersey. Martin is now the university last born in the United States, the elderly have been the choice in the draft, the best option, since it consists of three high school players (Kwame Brown, LeBron James and Dwight Howard), an international player two years of experience at the University of the United States (Andrew Bogut), two players without international experience American university (Yao Ming and Andrea Bargnani), three freshmen (John Wall, Greg Oden and Derrick Rose) and a second year college (Blake Griffin).

Kenyon graduated from a degree in criminal justice.

As a rookie for the New Jersey Nets, Martin has brought his trademark intensity to the NBA. Moving the center of power forward, he averaged 12 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. He was named NBA All-Rookie First Team. In his second season averaged 14.9 points, Martin, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game to help Net increase in last place in the Atlantic Division title in the Eastern Conference and the best season to date in the Nets NBA history. With Nets star Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson led the Nets Martin NBA Finals 2002, when they were swept by the Lakers in Los Angeles. In his third season Martin again helped his team to the NBA finals, where the Nets lost in six games against the San Antonio Spurs. The following year, Martin averaged 16.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks on the way to his first NBA All-Star selection as a backup forward for the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

Martin and teammate Alonzo Mourning when Martin fought almost mocks the grief of life-threatening kidney disease. 2 Martin later admitted he had made a mistake and apologized to Mourning. Knicks forward Tim Thomas commented on the errors of speeches by Martin 3 and the eye tic tic during a game, and calling Martin "Fugazi", a slang term for a false or forged. 4

In the game of 2004 NBA All-Star, Martin scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists were captured.
